So it’s come to this then…
Ok before I say anything I want to make it clear that I didnt want it to come to this. This site has, for 4 years now, stood by itself under its own weight without much problem. I was ALWAYS against the idea of asking the users for money but sadly its just what needs to happen now.
You will notice a widget on the side bar. Basically what we are asking of the community is to help pay for 3 months of hosting (3 months would actually be around $2800 but I rounded it up). The current advertising money will go towards getting the necessary hardware upgrades we need to keep the site running smoothly. What will happen once those 3 months are up? Well, I am going to try to find a way to make the site sustainable financially again. 3 months is plenty time to figure this stuff out and i’m confident that I will never have to make another donation drive like this again.
So if you can spare a buck or two here or there then we would greatly appreciate it.. anything at all will help. Im not expecting to reach our goal but if we can even make half of that I will be very impressed and forever in-debt to the user-base.

I’m glad you decided to accept donations. I’ll be chipping in $10 or so to help keep this site alive. This is my go-to site for porn and childhood-mongling and I really don’t want to see it go.
I still wouldn’t say no to a store though; it’d be cool having a Paheal shirt.

Draken, you don’t need a CC to use paypal. The quickest way to add money to a paypal account is through a Moneypak card which can only be bought using cash.

I also have a suggestion on helping the site run.
You could set up a site for artists to take commission orders from and take % of the total cost. You could have a default % and then the artist could decide how much of their sale they want to go to Paheal, and the % is displayed along with other information so people can make a decision along with other factors.

I keep getting an 503 error from time to time, which would normally mean it’s only a temporary issue, but as the site is down for days already, I fear the worst…
It’s really annoying that a page which gets thousands of dollars support has to shut down just because of its content. I can’t remember this happened before…
But please give us an update, even if only a few people are still reading this blog.

man i got here too late to warn you;
i was going to warn you about being really careful going through paypal. other big hentai sites have been screwed by them more than once due to their content when doing donation drives for the same reasons. the suggestion by “GirlaPH” of making a separate site to send the donations through might be an excellent lupehool to that issue of you can set it up right.
also, make sure the billing name is something discrete, so no potential donators won’t be hesitant to give due to what name appears on their CC bills. that’s important!
i was going to suggest you pull collected money out asap before they can close it off, but again too late. so what happens to all that money then? is it automatically refunded to the contributors?, or just never actually taken? in either case, if you can set up another donation location, everyone can just recontribute, unless their money’s locked in that closed account, then that would be total bull.

i don’t see a donation link anywhere, at the moment, so i guess it’s still not worked out. i want to donate ~$20, but i probably wont be for a couple weeks still. so hopefully you’ll still be excepting them.
Regardless, if we can whether THIS storm, the idea of a one time donation drive, out of necessity for an overhaul, and smooth sailing from then on sounds really amazing! if that’s true it would be money well spent.

there’s got to be some cheap international hosting available. perhaps .me like demonoid.me moved to or .hk even, since hongkong seems to be the polar opposite of all exceptions to china rule(though i don’t know if i would trust a .hk, as china hackers are getting better and r34 already had one attack from china before)…
